You probably have a yeast infection. It's normal when taking antibiotics and can get very painful very quickly. I would suggest next time you have to take an antibiotic to eat some really good yogurt full of acidophiles. The only way to know if you have a yeast infection is to be evaluated by a doctor. They will prescribe something to help, usually a topical like monistat. See a doctor.

It seems all antibiotics cause yeast. Itching is an early sign of yeast. Ammoxillin is the worst for me. The following works well. Unless caught too late, then store bought cures seem to be the only solution. I got the following from the book "my body-myself", and my ob-gyn agreed it's good. Also it's natural which is always a plus.
You may want to begin treatment with a vinegar douche. Then, in a water tight container, combine 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water. Add cotton balls. Use these as you would a tampon, I like it dripping wet. This helps to soothe the outside. Change it every time you urinate so you change it often enough.
From now on, you may want to start this treatment whenever you start any antibiotic.
I've been using this for 35 years, and it's a small miracle.
peace

you have what is known as a yeast infection. This is caused by the antibiotic (amoxil) and it not only kills the bad bacteria it also kills the good bacteria. This has changed the pH of your vagina and thus your body is producing yeast. I dont if you are in the USA but here there are many over the counter remedies to help with this problem...whatever you do DO NOT stop taking your antibiotics...if you will tell your pharmacist that you think you have a yeast infection, she can recommend proper medications for you..good luck. hope you get to feeling better soon

You've definitely got a Yeast Infection. I had the exact thing happen to me recently when I took Keflex for Strep throat. Call the doc who prescribed you the antibiotics, and they should give you a prescription for Diflucan without even having to see you. It's a one dose pill that takes care of a yeast infection without all the nasty creams (I think creams are NASTY, I will never try them!). I also heard that eating yogurt can help with a yeast infection, there's something about the active cultures that help out.

I would try using the Azo yeast infection pills, along with an over the counter product like monistat, or repHresh. Antibiotics have been known to cause yeat infections. The cranberry pills are for more like urinary tract infections.

Antibiotics commmonly cause yeast infections in women. (side effect) You need to change antibiotics and treat the yeast infection. Seeing a doctor would be your best option, sorry.

"I dont want to go to a Dr."
Why? Because you are either embarrassed for something you did or you are afraid for something you did.
Go see a Dr. - there are female specialists. STOP immediately taking pills for who's use you are not fully aware. Even if it's the RIGHT pill, if you are not taking the correct dosage at the correct times, you may be actually building your infection or whatever it is to a high resistance.
Dear - this stuff, if untreated, may scar your internals and prevent childbirth, and in a worst case - kill you. Unfortunately, your warm, wet vagina is like a fabulous mushroom farm. Whatever you have is NOT going away by itself, because your provide the perfect breeding grounds for fungus, bacteria and whatever. Yuck..
You have no idea what's wrong - isn't it about time you dealt with this like an adult? I mean you were adult enough to GET it.
Get going.
PS Whatever you did to get this - likely unprotected sex - has got to stop, and you need to inform your sex partners, even if the guy gave it too you. This is very serious.

You can try, sometimes a yeast infection can be caused by an antibiotic, or it could be something called bacterial Vaginosis which you will have to see a doctor for.

Cranberry juice is know to help with urinary tract infections. Why don't you enjoy the juice and skip the pills.
The antibiotics can mess up the "flora" of your vagina. I've heard that a bit of plain, live culture yoghurt admistered topically can help with that and can ease the itch. Might be worth a try.

Yes-antibiotics kill the bacterias that make you sick, but they can kill the good bacterias too-esp if you are a girl. You need the good bacteria down there and in your tummy too... got bad "infections" (yeast) while overcoming an illness in the hospital. Yes use cranberry and such. Drinkable aloe vera is GREAT too. Also good yogurt. Good luck
