MySpace is as safe as any other website on the internet. It depends on whether you secure your site and how much personal information you put out there about yourself and your friends and family.

As with anything... if you do not use safe browsing habits and common sense... and have some sense of security awareness... you probably shouldn't be using a computer.

Good Luck

I hate MySpace with a passion, but I think it should be "relatively" safe, depending on what you do with it.
As others have said, be careful of the amount of information you give out, plus be wary of random freaks/stalkers that will add you (this is from my Facebook experience, not MySpace, but they're everywhere :/)

MySpace like other popular sites are constantly being attacked by purveyors of malware. Occassionally they have managed to post images that all you have to do is visit a particular page and get infected. Many ads that you will see posted there will be attempting to get you to click on them by offering free stuff, etc. Their real aim is to infect your computer with their malware.
MySpace is used mostly by beginning computer users which are the most vulnerable.

If you know what you're doing. First, protect your personal info. Don't use your real name as your username. Also don't put where you live or your age either. Set your profile to private so only friends can see it. And also you may wanna set it so that only friends may message you, and that people who wanna be on your friends list have to know your last name or email address. Also, have up-to-date anti-spyware and anti-virus. Just don't fall for anyone's tricks and don't get your account hacked. Some people pretend to be someone you know. Like one time I heard this girl pretended to be this guy and then told the girl "he" didn't like her anymore. As a result, she hung herself. Use strong passwords as well. Follow these guidelines and it should be cool.

In some people's opinion it isn't, others, it is.
If you don't post all your right info then I think you will be okay. If you go blabbing all your info to strangers, or for all your online friends to see, then they will know it. There are only few sick computer nerds with the capability to trace someone and then have the guts to go find them.

No --- Plain and simple.
It is used by "hunters" looking for information about you , and "Cyber Cops" out looking for the bad guys.
I , myself never go there ---
It has nothing for me , but a waste of my time.

Yes, if you ONLY talk to people you know! But if you talk to people you do NOT know then just don't tell them any personal information!
