I have a Red Ear Slider who was born with no eyes. She is blind, but eats and lives perfectly well. Every time it gets brought people's first reaction is that it is cruel. I mean I didn't do this to her, she was born like that. Here is the video if you want proof:

She looks perfectly ok to me, jumping of the rock and swimming a lot. A lively, though little turtle ;-)
It's not cruel at all, if she was just sitting on a rock it would be, but she seems to be having fun.

Hey! I agree with you completely!!! You deem her life as important and why should the darling die if her health is good? People are thinking strangely when it comes to animals... By the way, I too have turtles, red ears like yours, but I also have a blind little friend, my young canary bird. He too was born that way and he is perfectly well and loved and spoiled!!! His name is Stevie Wonder...

Keep up the good work and happy New Year !

Her birth and life are not cruel, but where did you get her?

There is a website of questionable repute that offers eyeless Red-ears, and it may well be considered cruel that...
1. they breed them to be that way,
2. they sell them as eyeless, exploiting the deformity,
3. people intentionally buy them for various reasons,
4. the buyers exploit the deformity.

It is my opinion that buying or selling intentionally deformed animals is indeed cruel, but that caring for them properly is not.

As for the actual cares...
- I do not see a heating element in the tank- is the water being kept at 75-80F, and how do you know- I did not see a thermometer, either.
- Feeding a turtle out of the water is pretty 'not nice'- they are designed to hunt and eat in the water.
- You do have a good basking site, and plenty of water with what looks like a good filter.
- Handling a turtle is stressful, and in the end sequence, Ray does look a little stressed.
- Pellets are a good start to a good diet- is Ray eating anything else?

Turtles find food mainly by scent anyway...while she probably wouldn't have survived in the wild without eyes, the fact is she is in a completely protected environment with no competition for food or other resources...so I'm sure she's fine

Cruel would be if YOU had had something to do with her lack of eyes...being as you obviously didn't tell people to F off...or ask them if they consider it cruel to allow blind PEOPLE to live...that should shut them up...

It's not cruel. If she can get along just fine it fine by me. I think some people think you took the eyes out so she can have heightened senses. But you didn't. I think they read that part. Have fun with Ray.
