I remember the 1998 Denver Broncos

Also the Colts in 2005, when Vanderjagt choked in the last play. The winner in that game would have crushed the Broncos in the postseason and the Seahawks in the SB XL.

Any other team did something similar?

In reality 16-0 is pretty much irrelevant if you can't make in deep into the playoffs

No team in history has done that. No other team has ever been 15-0, so no other team has ever had that opportunity. When that chance is there, there isnt a single player or coach who would let that chance go by resting thier starters even with the guaranteed 1st round bye. The chance to go unbeaten is a chance that a very, very, very small amount of NFL players and coaches have had, and you have to go for it.

First off, both of those teams won before it came time to 'rest' players. So they didn't make a conscious effort. They both lost playing at 100%.

Secondly to the idiot who says that it's because the Pats 'buy' their players....THAT'S EVERY FRIGGIN TEAM. It's free agency and EVERY team buys their players. They either draft and then buy them with contracts, trade for them, or get them on the open market. EVERY team.

Let's not forget about the whining little snot Eli Manning who before the draft said he would sit out for the entire season if he were not drafted by the Giants. The Chargers were going to draft him but they didn't want to waste a pick on a brat who would refuse to sign.

The colts didn't rest their starters idiot. Manning just had a bad game and the Chargers were better.
