It also depends on how many your insurance company will allow. If they only allow one, then they might not do it until 18-20 weeks when the baby's gender is evident. Otherwise, I have had friends get them between 7-11 weeks. There have also been studies showing the excessive ultrasounds have lean to autism...but that is like upwards to like 20, so you shouldn't worry about that. I am currently 9 1/2 weeks, and I have not had one, nor do I have one scheduled for my next appointment. My insurance only covers one, "unless medically necessary," but I don't know what actually qualifies as necessary. I am just going to hold off until I can learn my baby's gender, unless, of course, a problem seems to arise and I need one to confirm that everything is still going accordingly. Good luck, and congrats!

This time I had my first ultrasound early @ 7 weeks, but on my previous pregnancies sthe first ultrasounds were performed @ 8-10 weeks.

Completely normal... I didn't have my first ultrasound until around 20 weeks... my doctor told me that he doesn't do ultrasounds before 18 weeks unless he has reason for concern.

I had my first ultrasound at 8 weeks. Seems weird that you won't have a first ultrasound until well into your second trimester. Go get a second opinion if you're unsure.

Mine was at 8 weeks, during my first doctor's visit. I'll be having another one at around 20 weeks.
