In the past I have put my decorations on Thanksgiving weekend. Next year I plan on putting them up in the beginning of November because it took all season to work out all of the frustrating no light episodes. I won't turn on the lights until Thanksgiving weekend though.
As for taking them down I usually take them down the day after Thanksgiving but this year my daughter is three and wants to keep them up awhile longer and I spoil her so up they stay for a little while at least.

i Take them down sunday the day before the 2nd i am not sure about that though because we all decide when we should take them down. but its up to u and others . some ppl take them down jan 2nd ,1st, 3rd . or maybe even a week before. i mean their is no dates to take them down or anything. i wish they had a date because then some houses would have decorations and others would not. but yea. i take them down on sunday!

January 2nd, at the latest. I like to put them up right after Thanksgiving, leave them for the month of December, then put them away. If they are left too long, they lose their appeal. The whole point, to me, is that they are a one month thing - that's what makes them special.

My maid takes care of that...Ant it's usually after Jan.6, which we call Kings' Xmas, referring to the Wise men who came to visit and give presents to the Child Jesus..
