2x^2 - x - 6

Delta = 1 - 4*2*(-6) = 1 + 48 = 49
Root Of Delta = 7

x1 = (- b + rootof49)*2a
=( 1 + 7 )*4 = 2
x2 = (- b - rootof49)*2a
= (1 -7 )*4 = -6/4 = - 3/2

2x^2 - x - 6
=2(x - x1)(x-x2)
=2(x-2)( x +3/2)
=(x-2)(2x+3)

2x + 3 is a factor then C is the correct answer .

I'd usually write "2xsqaured - x -6" as

2x^2 - x -6

= (2x +3) * (x - 2)

just multiply it out:

for instance

2x * (x - 2) = 2x^2 - 4x .......... (i)

and
3 * (x - 2) = 3x - 6 .......... (ii)

now add these two together [ (i) + (ii) ]
(2x^2 - 4x) + (3x - 6 ) to get
2x^2 -x -6

which is what you want

(I think) ....... good luck

2x² -x -6 = (2x+3)(x - 2). So C) is the correct answer.
Use the FOIL rule to check it.

2x^2 -x -6
= (2x+3)(x-2)

So C) 2x + 3 is indeed the right answer.

The answer would be A.

It would be (x-2)(2x-3) if 2x^2-x-6 is factored.

(2x + 3)(x - 2) = 2x^2 - x -6
Let's get something a little harder.
