As my husband tells people, when they ask how long we dated before we married, "Five out of six years". You could say, "We've been married six out of nine years!"

Well lets see
In my experience I am in a relationship now that started 4 and a half years ago (june 03) we split once for 4 months and again for 3 months. Got back together the last time and moved in together.
We don't say that we have only been together the 2.5 years we have been living together we have been together 4.5 years cause even when we were apart our hearts were still with each other just circumstances caused us to be apart and grow as people.
Its great to celebrate your first year of remarriage that is wonderful. but in the end you have been married longer and that is how I would say it.
Follow your heart what is it telling you.
If it is a matter of your anniversary date that is bothering you I would stay with the new years date its special its where your bond was sealed for life.
Congratulations on finding happiness don't let something so menial stress you out let your hubby no how you feel about it and never second guess what your heart is telling you.

I would say we've been re-married 1 year. If the person that's asking is someone you care to share that much of your personal life with I would say the above suggestion.
To other people I would say however many years you were together and married. As far as how long have you been together go with however long you have actually been a couple. I wouldn't go with something that doesn't feel right.

My New Year's Resolution is: never go back to an ex.
Just like Kim and Eminem, this won't last, so it won't matter what you tell people. Tell them you've been married a year. Make your husband happy. People never change.
