I have a 6 month old pc with vista. I brought it to Staples and they sold me an S cable. I plugged that in to my laptop and the tv. Now I am trying to get the laptop to be viewed through the tv??? I tried to configure it through windows media centre but I am a bit lost. Thanks for any help in advance.

You will also need to open up the software that comes with your Graphics Card and change the settings there for 'Dual' monitors, or you can pick to use one, the other or both. You may be able to do this in Display Properties Advanced as well, if the graphics card software doesn't override it. However, if your sound card doesn't have the rca jacks (red & white) then even though the tv will show the picture, you will still have to use the sound on your laptop for the sound...lol
