Yes but the shop would then be the respondent, and if they are like the ansaphone, they won't speak to you either. Voice a complaint with the Better Business Bureau; that may get you an anwer.

Maybe it doesn't like your tone of voice- do you get the message? Off the record, I'd voice a complaint. Maybe it's getting back at you- playback time.
