The record test 10th wicket partnership is 151 runs, shared by BF Hastings and RO Collinge for New Zealand, against Pakistan. The match was played at Eden Park, Auckland, NZ from 16-19 February 1973. Their partnership helped New Zealand's first innings total from 251-9 to 402 all out, matching Pakistan's first innings total. The match eventually ended in a draw.
The record was equalled in 1997 by Pakistan's Azhar Mahmood and Mushtaq Ahmed. The pair helped Pakistan to bat through the first three days of the 1st Test against South Africa, in a match which unsurprisingly ended in a draw.
