Bleach is the best way I know to remove mildew. I don't know what kind of surface the mildew is on, but it should be fine to spray either a bleach-based cleaner diluted bleach on it --wait a few minutes, scrub and repeat the cleaner if necessary.

We bought our house about a year ago and the first thing I notice when I pulled into the drive way was how filthy it was, dirt and mildew all over the siding. We had it powerwashed. We have a fairly large house so it ran us right around $350. They used something with bleach it, but it didn't hurt the grass or the plants in our flower beds.
Looked like a new house. We have vinyl siding.

Rent or buy a powerwash machine. You can get one that hooks up to your electric outlet and than connect the other part to your hose. Go to Home Depot and get Zep High Pressure Powerwash, not a lot money for Zep product works get and get Zep 505 Degreaser also.
This is the best way to do-it-yourself.. Don't forget to get safey gogles to protect your eyes when powerwashing the outside or the sidewalk or even the patio deck. You'll be suprise how many uses you can use this device on even cleaning your car..

Wash the outside of the house with a scrub brush, using bleach and water. You may have to do this a couple of times a year, but it will work. If your home is brick, you can use a power wash machine.

Grease Lightning!
Works wonders. Do not get it on paint. Will take paint right off.
Works well on the resin chairs too!
You might need to use a little elbow grease, or get a pressure washer.
Be careful using bleach, it can kill your plants, grass and burn you, not too mention bleach whatever your wearing.
Try the Grease Lightning. Can be found at Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's, most grocery stores.
:-)

Lowe's carries a great mildew remover in the cleaning section. Please try this and see. Otherwise bleach will remove it but will not kill it so it will come back.
