Using my present broadband modem, I have 2 computers and a landline telephone in use all at once. I changed to a cheaper system and found I could only use one computer at a time. The phone is out of service also. It never occurred that this would happen. I'm stuck with this contract for 18 months now.

Actually, you can use ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) from one of the computers. It acts as a virtual router to the other PC. The only downside is that both machines must be on in order to use the Internet connection.

To use more than one machine on the connection you need a router. This connects to the line through a dsl filter, and then the machines connect to the router. You must have a dsl filter between every phone, fax, modem or answering machine and it's socket as well as the dsl one.

It sounds like you need to contact them.
There is no earthly reason why.
You should be able to use multible computers all at the same time and the telephone to.
