Is that not a parrell twin? I belive they made a 450 model also. You may even do a search for a 450 suzuki i believe is a gs450. Then if you want even smaller then both yamaha and honda made some 250 models.

Yamaha also made an XS400 during that era. I've had both, in fact my first streetbike was a 1981 XS400. Perfect beginer bike, light enough to handle around town but it will get on the highway if it needs too. Keep in mind at highway speeds turbulance from semi's and other large vehicles can really affect you. Yamaha also had an XS360 prior to the 400, I'd go with the 400 though since parts will be easier to get. Honda had many twins from 150cc up to 500cc cb's, sl's, cl's I'd stay away from the cb450 and cb500t's of the 70's with the torsion bar valve springs, I've had to repair a few from cam wear in the followers. The cb and cm 400's and 450's are good bikes, the 400 hondamatic auto clutch is collectable, suzuki had the GS line in 400cc, 450cc twins and kawasaki had the KZ line with the 305cc, 400cc, and 440cc. Note that the kawasakis are known to having bad diaphrams in the carbs and the last time I checked new ones were $174 a piece. I personally am biased towards yamaha's but in my 13 years experience with motorcycles have found that generally (and I know some will be upset with this but this is just MY experience) as far as reliability and parts availability Honda is 1st, Yamaha 2nd, Kawasai 3rd, and Suzuki 4th. I hope this helps some.
