You have to go to the doctor. You have to put aside your fears and think of your baby's health. Call your doctor as soon as you can.
If you don't get proper pre-natal care, yes, there is a possibility of permanent harm being done to you and/or your baby.

The average woman doesn't see a doctor for prenatal appointments until 10-12 weeks. It's a shame you got pregnant with such fears. You need to get over it. If you are black, as your avatar indicates, black women have higher rates of medical problems while pregnant due to a tendency for high blood pressure, so prenatal care is very important for you.
Consider choosing a community hospital and then a doctor who practices there. They are far less fearful to those with medical personnel fears than bigger, city hospitals. Alternatively, consider a homebirth with a midwife or even an unassisted homebirth. If you go that way, I highly recommend still getting prenatal care from a doctor.

No you and your baby will not die. Pregancy is a very natural thing.
However, you do need to have a dr monitor your pregnancy. He can catch any problems before they become serious.
Find yourself a good ob/gyn. Make your appointment as soon as you can.
You visits will not be scary. You go in and pee in a cup. The dr checks your urine for protien (which can be a sign of a bladder infection) and sugar (to make sure your sugar levels are normal).
The nurse will take your blood pressure to make sure it is normal, then she will weigh you to make sure your weight gain is good.
At your first visit, your dr will do a pelvic exam and pap smear. This is the most unpleasant part but it is just for the first visit.
You may get to hear your baby's heart beat at the first visit if you are far enough along, that is always exciting. If you aren't far enough along then you will hear it at another visit.
At some point your dr will do an ultra sound. They put this jelly stuff on your tummy and slide a thing over your tummy and then your baby appears on the sceen!! This is the COOLEST part of the whole thing to me. (I am lucky my dr does one at every visit)
Look into getting into some prenatal classes too. They will help you learn what changes your body goes thru during pregnancy and what to expect during labor and delivery. The more you know about what is going on, the less afraid you will be, the less afraid you are, the better.
Good Luck, e mail me privately if you ever need someone to talk to. I am currently expecting my 5th baby.

Hey - you're right where I'm at - 10 weeks! I haven't seen the doctor yet either. You should call around to different hospitals and ask if nurse midwives deliver there - when you find one where they do - ask for their number. Nurse midwifery is the way to go. I hate hospitals and those scary feelings too - a nurse midwife is like having a sister - but one who is throughly trained to help you - right by your side through it all. Their offices are like home - not like white walls and silver tables at the ob-gyn. As long as you're having a healthy pregnancy - the cost is about 75% less than an ob-gyn assisted labor and delivery. Most midwives accept alternate forms of coverage and insurance as well. They work much harder to help and work with you. I've got my appointment scheduled for the 11th because they have so many women right now - they couldn't fit me in before now. I trust them and they have all my records already so I didn't want to start something new with another practice. Yeah - I give birth about 20 minutes after realizing I'm in labor - so I have to use a practictioner who is with the closest hospital - even if it means waiting a bit for the initial prenatal visit! The thing is that nurse midwives today are not what most people think. They have all the training that an ob-gyn would for basic pregnancy, labor and delivery - they have access to ob-gyn's in case complications arise that they cannot handle and there is always an ob-gyn available in case it's necessary during labor and delivery. They require Master level specialized nursing degrees. Many deliver in the hospital giving you assurance in case anything goes wrong or the baby needs the ICU. No - you will not die. I was a bit concerned about not going to the doc sooner - as long as you have no bleeding you're probably fine. But just make sure you're getting a good prenatal vitamin and drinking orange juice and getting your folic acid. Doctors try to see you as early as possible these days to run a monthly screen to ensure that you don't develop pre-clampsia or pregnancy related diabetes. They also like to help you in case you develop a UTI or yeast infection - they like to clear those things up ASAP when you're pregnant. The pap smear thing too they like to do to make sure what steps need to be taken for your health and the health of the baby. Most likely you'll be fine. The great thing is at your stage - they can tell alot about how healthy the baby is by an early ultrasound. My midwife has a basic one right in her office - where they don't do all of the you know - advanced stuff - but it does give them an idea as early as 5 weeks if there is a baby in there and if it is generally probably healthy or not. Cranberry juice is great for your urinary tract health since some women do get UTIs and bladder infections - like me!

oh hun... you have to see the doc.... Dr. wont examine you at this point... just arrange for a Midwife to call in and see you. You are coming up for your 12 week scan so i would advise you face your fears and make the appointment asap. You may find it hard but to ensure you and your baby are healthy they have to examine your progress. Please make appointment asap. In 8 months time when the baby is on its way i bet you will visit the hopsital to delivery it without a shadow of a doubt!!

you should see a doctor to make sure that there aren't any preventable problems. You should also be altering your diet to healthy foods and taking prenatal vitamins.
Why are you afraid of doctors or hospitals? What happens in a few months when you give birth?

You don't need to go to the doctor till you're in your 2nd trimester, or 12 weeks pregnant, unless you experience bleeding, or think there might be a complication. I'd schedule a doctor appt. soon.
