I noticed that my bunny has his poops stick to his butt. I know that bunnies produce 2 kinds of poops, and they eat one of the two to help their digestion. What should I know and do to help my bunny to keep his butt clean. Maybe he is overwight and can't bend to eat his poops? I feed him twice a day. Mornings: baby carrots with some greens: lettuce or broccolli or parsley. And for dinner he has 1/3 of a cup of dry food (the one that's not colored).
Please tell me what do I do wrong?

Usually when poop is stuck to the fur on the rear end, it is indicative if diarrhea. He may also be overweight because you are feeding him carrots. Carrots should only be an occasional treat - they have too much sugar. He needs timothy hay, timothy pellets, lots of greens and a little bit of other veggies. Only a little bit of fruit. Go to bunnybunch.org for more advice. Good luck! :)

Don't give any veggies or fruits for a while. Only give hay, pellets and water. Let him out of the cage so he can get some exercise. Rabbits need lots of fibre in their diet to stay healthy and keep their GI tract moving.

my rabbit does the same thing and i took him to have the hair shaved thinking that maybe his hair was to long but the vet told me that i need to stop giving him moist food and stick with the dry food for awhile.. that and it also depends on your bedding and the kind of cage you have your rabbit in they told me to get a wire mesh under his feet to where his poop drops below him and he is not sitting in it

The poop that I eat really helps me with digestion. You have to teach him stretching exercises so he can reach around like I do.

i could advise taking your bunny to the vet. it could merely be an easy concern or it could desire to be some style of respiration concern. however the faster you recognize, the greater effective off your bunny would be.

I think you're giving it too much green stuff. Halve it. Make sure it has water.
