1 year then retire. He will realize that being a Dodger is going to suck. Hes going to realize he misses everybody in the Yankees clubhouse and would just retire after this little stint with the Dodgers.

I don't know if he will go much beyond the 3 year contract he has. Not having anything to do with the team, but he's hinted at retiring. As for the Dodgers performance, I see them in the playoffs even this year, but not sure if they will have what it takes to win it all within 3 yrs. Possible, though. Their young kids are showing great promise. Ethier, Kemp and Jones are as good an outfield as any in baseball. Loney is a Steve Garvey with more pop. Jeff Kent is a first ballot HOF'er. Furcal is astonishing. Martin is proving himself to be a perennial all star. Their pitching staff is solid when/if healthy. Saito is a top shelf closer, and Broxton is closer in waiting and a solid 8th inning guy. The only detriments are the health of the starting rotation, and 3rd base. Is La Roche ready to start? Can Nomar play 150 games and still hit?

I like the Dodgers... I think they have very good young talent.
But if I had to choose right now how the Dodgers and Joe Torre's futures will pan out... I think he will be there for a few years and then retire without really getting anything accomplished. I think they'll make the playoffs at least once, but they wont win a championship.

The Dodgers are in the toughest division in baseball. Where else in baseball did you see 4 teams in one division all over 500.? Whoever makes it out of the NL west is going to the WS. He won't get a whole bunch of rings but he will get at least one during his 3-year contract and I hope its against the Yankees. Oh yeah, and Torre doesn't have magic. He had a 200 million dollar payroll.

you have stated all of it my pal. all of us comprehend that Joe Torre exchange into between the suitable managers obtainable, and confident, we've been spoiled by utilizing him, getting us to the playoffs each 365 days, and getting us to the worldwide sequence 6 circumstances and triumphing it 4 circumstances. however the no longer trouble-free actuality is that we cant anticipate Girardi to have the comparable outstanding commencing up. we are in a position to anticipate him to do nicely, yet no longer as great as Joe Torre. there is in basic terms one Joe Torre. i desire that Joe Torre does extremely nicely in l. a.. ideally i might desire the worldwide sequence to be between the Yankees and the dodgers. (of direction i might desire the Yankees to win interior the top, despite the fact that it would be effective for him to make it that far.) I desire Joe (the two Torre and GIrardi) the suitable of success.

I defiently agree with you 100%
Torre is a great manager
but he hasnt managed for a team that doesnt have that much talent
i mean the Dodgers have really good talent and i hope to see them really improve from last year but theyre not as good as the Yankees
I think Torre will stay in Los Angeles for a couple of years
and get the heck out
No more rings for him

I see Torre being there for about 3 years, improving the team by giving them a couple playoff appearances, but not doing enough to get a ring. I think Torre is a great talent, but the Dodgers team will need more time than I think he is willing to give.

Torre is a good manager and would do well anywhere. Depending on how much input he has on getting players the Dodgers should be a better team with him.

I actually see the Dodgers doing quite well this year. But I don't see Torre taking his team to the WS. I think after a few years, he'll retire comfortably.

Joe will not win a ring with the Dodgers. They just aren't good enough. I do see them making the playoffs year in year out though. Maybe he can get that personal 12 year playoff streak up to like 15 or 16.
