It seems like fat people are the brunt of everyones ire. With it in the media constantly about how large our country has gotten, fat people are becoming worse targets than ever before.

I have not always been fat, and have gained a huge amount of weight due to health issues and I am just SHOCKED at how people treat me.

What gives? What gives skinny people the right?

Its like instant judge and jury, you are fat so forget about you. No one seems to concider that some people don't want to be fat, even if they dont have a condition making them keep the weight on.

(before anyone says change your meds, I need the steroids I am on, I need the anti inflamitories and other medications I am on or I WILL DIE)

It isnt just about losing weight. I do know plenty of healthy fat people (hearts are good, no diabetes, no skeletal problems... that whole deal)

Why is it so difficult for society to accept people for who they are... not what they look like.

Its almost as bad as someone pointing to a person with a facial deformity and making fun of them. They can't help it.

I don't think it's okay to be rude to anyone for any reason. I don't think people purposely choose to be overweight. I'm sure everyone would love to be at a healthy weight, but for some it isn't possible. I've gained a lot of weight because of medication and I can't lose it. I don't let others get to me. I know obesity is a problem in this country and we should help others rather than mistreat them. 2D

Because you can be fat and of either gender, any race, any sexuality etc, and the pervasive belief is that it is simply because you are greedy and lazy.
Fat people get it from EVERYONE - including other fat people. I think that the fatter you are the worse peoples attitudes, and their behaviour is alarming in the way that it totally de-humanising. A friend of mine is 20 stone plus (about 300lbs) and people will be SO rude about her as if she isn't there. I am 200lbs - I do not get treated like that.
I have really mixed feelings about it. On the one hand people should NOT be treating people like that, on the other most obese people aren't like you - they are fat because they eat A LOT, and it is hard to feel OK about someone who takes up twice as much space, breaks furniture and costs the NHS much more than the average person through something they have done to themselves. I feel the same way about smokers and alcoholics who need treatment.

Obesity is the topic of the year. Society went after drunk drivers and now that it is prosperous to arrest them they went after smokers, making money off of that and now let's get fat people. Blame game going and we need for someone to take the fall. Minority rules.

this the whole superficial image..its sickening how our society no longer values true emotions, or the human spirit or things that realy matter...that realy counts...that realy is URs to control..u dont choose ur body type or face or anything..im not saying fat is ok and this is because healthy wise its not..but for people to use it as a joke..i guess ppl like to point other ppls weaknesses..but wat i dont find ok is for fat people to cry about it..they need to look within and understand how humans act..theres always something to point out..loose the weight for ur SELF...let ppl judge we all judge for the sake of it..
