Well, I cannot say I am a "Bush Optimist", but I do know what they think. Although the housing market is at the bottom of its cycle, which is normal, this market is expected to begin its upswing by 2009. In the meantime, the US economy is also in the process of retooling itself. New technology and the advent of trying to find ways to reduce, eliminate and replace fossils fuels with other renewable and less harmful fuels is going to take a little time and we're feeling that in the economy. When the economy as a whole does rebound, you'll see a lot more "environmentally correct" industries emerging, including "green" housing, buildings, etc... Wait a minute... This is what the Gore Optimist believes!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh well, you get the idea...

Seems so funny how the Liberals claim that we were better when Clinton was in office. What a joke. Clinton had put us in a recession before he left. The Mortgage situation had nothing to do with Bush. To many people do not pay attention or ask questions when they purchase a home. They don't look at certain obstacles either. Bush had done a lot for us besides the war. But, I feel that the War was a good idea. Look at Pakistan right now. What ever the outcome of any Presidents term, has always had ungrateful people that can never be happy. It is called the blame game. Then they can feel better about how they messed their own lives up.

I need a person who has to dig up obscure factoids about economic collapse and the ruination, caused by Bush, to explain how there are new cars all over the road. How there are no repossessions in my area, how you can afford a computer. My gosh, if you moaners ever looked outside of the Internet you would be shocked.

Let's see Bush turned my 401k into a 201K, the markets are still below their levels when he entered office. Under Bush and a republican Congress underwriting standards for loans were loosened now we have a huge meltdown in securitized mortgages most of which were issued to speculators, and I am seeing people say the problems we see today are all Clinton's fault? Please help me understand the logic there?
Only one other President had the market perform so badly under his regime...Herbert Hoover. They guy who ordered the troops to attack our WWI veterans and had them bayonet babies!

Sure, I'll explain - the economy has slumped - all the way to what it was under Clinton. I'd say it must still be pretty good, because the Libs are always saying how good it was under Bill Clinton. Same numbers, same prosperity - yay!

Tax cuts.
We were in a recession before Clinton left office (and Clinton has since admitted that). Bush does not get enough credit for getting the country through both a recession and 911.

It's not and they know it that is why they won't answer the question. They know their energy and food costs are way up, the housing market in is big trouble, unemployment is higher (than Clinton era), most of their 401k's are stagnant at best, the national debt is at all time highs, etc. The truth hurts especially when you voted for the guy twice, I am sure many of them are ashamed of their choice.

Good grief, it's called a cycle, moron. Personally, I think the economy is and has been great. Of course, I'm also not an idiot who bought into a stupid mortgage scheme.
