My 3 month old often comfort sucks to fall asleep. How did you cope with this problem. Did your baby outgrow this quickly?

Chances are your baby will find a different way to comfort herself while she is with a sitter. You could try a pacifier, or maybe she will learn to suck her thumb. She also may learn to be comforted in other ways than sucking, such as being rocked or by a special object like a stuffed toy or blanket.

Babies are smart they know who does and doesn't have the boobs.

My son is a complete boob addict but will fall asleep with daddy sometimes, and hasn't really been a problem with the sitter. Also remember that for the odd night out it isn't a huge problem if the baby is up late.

most babies are smart. they can smell the milk or lack thereof and they know. She wont smell your milk on the caregiver and therefore she wont expect it....if she likes to suck try getting her a pacifier, they make ones now that do not affect the palate of the mouth or the placement of the teeth. to keep it under control thouggh, just let them use it at daycare, never at home.

My daughter started going to daycare part time at 6 months old. They rocked her to sleep and she did fine. I guess she knew they didn't have what I had to offer her, so she didn't cry or get upset at all. Now if I had tried to rock her to sleep she probably would have gotten upset.
