I've lived in the DFW Metroplex for close to seven years now, and plan to move away in the next couple. My New Year's resolution this year is going to be to do the things I haven't around town.

So far my list of places to consider includes:

Reunion Tower
Six Flags
the state fair (definitely on the list)
A-Kon
maybe the rodeo?

While they're not DFW-specific, I am also adding (before I leave a huge city where I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make it):

Rocky Horror Show
Crüxshadows concert, if they hit town
Vienna Teng concert, if she hits town
maybe a George Strait concert?

Anybody else have any ideas that I should add to the list? I'm hoping to have between 6 and 10 things to do for the year, so I'm doing something every month or two. But I don't really know what I should add - Dallas has never seemed a terribly culture-heavy part of Texas to me, so I'm completely open to ideas. (-:

Go the the 6 Floor Museum (Where Lee Harvey Oswald shot JFK). It is totally dedicated to the assasination of JFK. It is really interesting. While you are there, there is a conspiracy theory museum right around there in Dealey Plaza somewhere (I can't remember specifics). It is also dedicated to the JFK assasination. I also recommend the Dallas World Aquarium. It is a really nice aquarium. Go to the Las Colinas movie studio. It is really interesting and has sets from movies such as JFK. It also has props and replicas of props. Go to the Holocaust Museum. It is really sad but really good. While you are in Las Colinas you might stop and check out the sculptures of the horses dashing across the water. I have never been here but I would like to: The Crow Collection of Asian Art (www.crowcollection.org). Every October there is a traveling show that goes to Irving. It is a group of flamenco dancers that put on a show of the different dances in the different hispanic countries. It's website is: http://www.flamencoballet.com/index_old.html
I have went to it the last two years and really enjoy it everytime. For more ideas, I strongly recommend that you buy the book: Dallas & Fort Worth: A Pictorial Celebration (ISBN: 9781402725616). I have this book and I LOVE it! Even if you don't need more ideas, buy this book, you will not regret it. I went to Barnes and Noble in Frisco yesterday and they had a lot of copies of this book in stock. I hope that this information helps!

Go inside the Bank of America and look around,,Ride the elevator up as far as you can go 60 floors or something outrageous like that..the top ten or so floors are reserved for others..Your ears will pop. There are lots of stores and sculptures and it's really pretty. The Irving Mall is pretty neat too.
