In November my doctor did a trans vaginal ultrasound and found a cyst. Next week I go back for another trans vaginal ultrasound to see if it went away on its own. Judging from the severe pain I've had (I can't sleep more than an hour at a time and sometimes I double over in pain) I am guessing it has not gone away. On the 14th I am supposed to have a hysterOSCOPY at the hospital. Would she possibly take the cyst out then? If so what is the recovery time on that?

I had a hysteroscopy in 1999 along with some other diagnostic procedures. It can take about 1-2 weeks to fully recover from this procedure but some spotting after the procedure is normal while the area heals. Depending on the exact location of this cyst and the size yes, she may take it out at that time.

I would recommend making another appt with your doctor before the 14th to discuss what all is probably going to happen. Also, please request a prescription for the pain you will feel for a bit after the procedure while trying to recover from the procedure.

In the mean time here's the link to a site that may help you find even more information. It's at:
