I think its because most people are right handed and it makes the right hand more functionable it the watch is on the left hand.

Usually because if your typically right handed you place the watch on your left wrist and if your left handed you place the watch on your right wrist. I've heard because the hand you write with is in use most of the time its easier to look at the watch on the left wrist and if your writing something you tend to look at the other wrist which is not in use. But than again its anyones option to chose what is best for them.

Think about it how many of ur friends are left handed and how many are right ? Your numbers of right handed will out weigh the left, which means the logical thing would be to make it for those who are right handed. But you can find a few designs for left handed people (those who wear it on the right)

Maybe becasue most people are right handed and a watch bothers people when they write. I am left handed and always wear a watch on my right.

many people are right handed and wear their watch on the left so it doesn't get in the way when they are writing.

Right handed people wear it on their left, so it doesn't bother them as they write. And vice versa for lefties. Since there are more right-handed people, you see more watches on the left hand.

It depends on which hand you write with.
I'm left handed so if I were to wear a watch, I'd wear it on my right hand.
