Let her go if it's becoming desperate enough that she wants to go in public (no 11 year old would ever do that if it wasn't truly urgent). The reason being is because she can get a bladder infection if she holds it for too long, a very common one is a UTI which can lead to complications in the bladder if left untreated. It's also bad for the muscle, and in extreme cases it can rupture and cause serious harm. She can still go in a bottle, haven't you ever had to pee in a cup before? It's the same thing! A lot of people say 'suck it up' or 'you should have gone before just hold it' but this is why children get a lot of bladder infections. It's not a matter of toughing it out, but of understanding how the body works and the limitations it has.

I try to hold it because it would be really nasty to pee in a coke or sprite bottle or something like that in a traffic area where there is bound to be lots of people. What I did once is put tissues in my underwear and pee on them!

i hold it for 8 hours a day when i go to school . the bathrooms are nasty and smell really bad so i dont go. thats from 7 in the morning untill like 3 or 4 in the afternoon. so i was told that is not good for you to hold it . but in the case that u have u might want to .

Lucky for guys, they can just pee in a bottle or a can but for us girls, just hold it, I guess. I had to hold it for nine hours in traffic once. I was in agony.

carry a bedpan with you,or a plastic bottle with a large opening. i dont drive,but i know the feeling! i was out with my bf one day i rushed out without relieveing myself and i payed for it i coulnt use a bathroom until my bf took me to his house. i held back for 12 hours! agony!
