I just bought a 15.4 " VueScape LCD widescreen monitor, and when I hooked it up to my computer, all the colors are way-off, and I cannot adjust the resolution, or color quality. I tried adjusting these properties with the old monitor, as the manual suggested, but it still didn't work. I also cannot find a site with a driver (if necessary) and the monitor came with no disc to install programs if necessary. The only way it works, is to turn the computer on with the old monitor, and hook the new one up while the computer is still on. Help?

stu- yeah, I tried doing that, the slider will move to the reccomended resolution with the old monitor hooked-up, and then once the new one is attached, the slider CANT be moved from 600x800, and the res for this new monitor is 1024x768.

First set video resolution to something basic like 800x600
Shut down PC and connect new monitor
power on
Go into display properties and adjust to a resolution the monitor accepts, also set the monitor type to LCD panel, with relevant resolution

Failing that go back to store, and ask for help / replacement

Hi, Sounds like your power module inside the LCD got shorted out; Unplug it from the power, and let it stand for 24 hours, then plug it in and see if it works; If it does not work, you can get it repaired in a computer shop or by Viewsonic, or buy a new one.

Go into device manager under monitors and delete the monitor device shown and then refresh devices (or reboot the system). This should force the plug and play to redefine the monitor.
