i bought a 680i LT SLI but have not used it yet. I did not want this one because I'm not sure of the brand name and th 680i LT is not the top of the line..... close but not top. it was the only one i could find at the time. i think Asus is a good brand from what i have read and seems to be popular among knowledgeable gamers. i have an HP desktop and they used Asus

A good mother board depends on ur need well any way a good mother is what which dont have any sound card nor any VGA built in card like heavy server boards if you are going to buy for the home then i go for the INTEL and if you go for the corperate sector then i also go for the INTEL cause intel supports all the major processors plus dual core support and quad core support and as well the main issue regarding the operating systems driver , at intel website you can find all major drivers for the famous operating systems and they have a high speed buss built in which in my experience other mother boards rather then INTEL have a heat up issue and they consume major power therefore you need a good power supply for then if not then they have the restart issue in my life i have tried all the mother boards and at last i have stopped at INTEL and i also say you also use INTEL mother boards which will not cause u any pain in future

ASUS and intel are the best brands here. ECS and Fosconn are budget boards but offers reliability too. I don't like biostar as i had a bad experience with it. on other boards, i can't say as much as i haven't used them before.
