Selfish. I've always been generous and even put down because of it. My music director in my church said that I was "Too generous" and I'm still mystified by that. I have 25 rose bushes, and would give a rose to each choir member who was having a birthday. That isn't too generous, that is pruning my roses in a kind way, by sharing my bounty.
After searching my soul, and looking at my motives, I still would rather give too much to others, as to turn my head and give nothing. I volunteer because I have the time; I give roses because I have too many. I simply share my abundance, not ever taking from my supply but just from the overabundance. Makes sense to me.
