A PC is the best option, particularly when using with a large-screen LCD. Examine carefully the inputs, whether they are 1362, USB or something else.
If possible photograph the connections, or photocopy the booklet that came with the TV and take this to the store.
When buying, insist that the store show you a similar set-up to the ones which applies to your set-up, and make sure you supply the DVD or other presentation data, so that they cannot dupe you with technical wizardry.
Yo0u could do well to consider a laptop or PC which is made by the same manufacturer: Sony have some beautiful styles and good specifications.
If you want to do intensive graphics, Apple is superb, and now come with Intel chips. Windows does have probably more software available from third-party developers.
The MOST important piece of kit is the graphics card: look at the pages of PC Pro to see their A-list: you could also go to forums there to ask other designers what they recommend.

i would of said mac while mac were Power pc based. but now there intel based its hard to say.
PC and macs can now have much the same specs. I have a mac and a laptop. pc and notebooks of both. mac is seen as more of a media system but other then software you can get theres not much between them anymore.
Programs like Ableton Live can run just as well on both PC and mac.
As can the adobe programs.

Probably a Mac. But that's better for programmers and etc, while PC you can still watch and record HD movies perfectly.

You can use either of the two, however for applications to use to show movies and **** on your screen, Apple will have really good graphics and things, but have a limited selection of programs available for your use. Pc will have very good graphics and be able to be upgraded easily and have a wider selection of applications for your usage. So really the decision is up to you!

Actually, a PC is best for that. You want a PC running Windows XP Media Center edition (not just regular XP)

Mac (Apple) is known for better graphics than PC. I have both, and I do most of my graphic work on the Mac.
