we live a few hundred feet from a little lake and years ago (before leash laws and much more traffic) we had a cream colored dog that would take off and head down there, when she would come back, she was always covered with some of the worst stinking muck i ever encountered. i never found out what it was, but not even several good scrubbings could remove that foul stench!! now a days, i always know when one of our dogs has been snacking in the cat box, what's with dogs, anyway?!?

No. I believe it is my responsibility to keep my dog at home. He is, after all, MY dog, not everyone else's in the world to deal with.

We are not allow to let our dogs roam free, so mine was chained up.
She was quite capable of jumping the fences, so I couldn't let her run free.
The chain was quite long and was attached to a piece of Heavy wire that ran the length of the back yard, so she had plenty of room to run around.
