se septic digestion in that process....different poop? Poop eating other poop?

Why not? Herbivores have a whole mess of bacteria we omnivores and carnivores don't have. That's why bears eat deer poop -- to help digest plant matter. I would think adding fresh cow flop or some other ruminant's feces would help digest some of the lignin and cellulose that invariably ends up in septic systems.

But am I gonna go try it? I doubt it. You'll still have to pump out the scum and sludge every now and then.

Nope. It doesn't work like that. We just throw out our dogs poop in a garbage bin we keep outside for pooper scooping. Plus we get the septic tank pumped every couple of years.
