When you buy gas and pay $ 3.00 per gallon. The taxes are hidden in the price..Example.3% county, 1% City, 8% Federal. You are never told the amount of each tax. Now the direct tax might be the shirt cost $15.00 plus tax of $1.75.....

A direct tax is one that you pay. An indirect tax is a tax someone else pays, but they raise the price of the item sold so that in effect you pay it.
