I'm from Alabama and no, we're not stupid. Every culture has it's own eccentricities and not understanding them doesn't give someone the right to call the other stupid.

Well if anything, some of them give that southern hospitality, unlike some Northern folk, and western people.. I would not generalize though. I understand what you are saying though. It is really how people perceive different cultures and areas. Comedians make jokes about anyone. Especially if it is common in the one group of people. But I would revise your question to " some people from the south," instead of "people from the south."

No, I don't. I just think the way of life is totally different down South. But the same hold true for East Coast v West Coast. i live on the East Coast, and find the West Coast to be a lot friendlier and less stuck up and judgemental.

It is no more true in the south as in the north, west, or east. Smart and or not as smart are everywhere, but TV makes you think differently.
