Humor seems to interrupt the stress response and the arousal pattern of the autonomic nervous system. Laughter opens up breathing, stimulates the immune system and increases tolerance to pain. The result is a decrease in stress hormones and an increase in healthy antibodies. Laughter is indeed the best medicine.

When you smile, laugh etc, you get a rush of endorphins sent to your brain and body. These endorphins make you feel good. So the more humor you feel, the better. That is where humor really affects life.

to decelerate our aging, when we laugh much we don't become old fast.
there's an explanation about the hormones release when we laugh that make us less stressful, but that would be another story :D
