With the smoking ban in Illinois going into affect January 1st 2008 do you think the bars will start immediately or comply with the new statute when they open properly the night of the 1st?

Also why not ask a 2nd part. As a smoker or non-smoker in IL how will this affect your bar going experieriences?

As a smoker I will drink less in bars and when I do I will leave earlier. It's too cold to be going outside. I'll probably meet more at friends homes now for take out food and drinks.

I was a smoker living in Ct when the law was passed in NY and CT and I liked it. Finally I could go out and not get back home smelling like an ashtray. It isn't that big a deal. Most bars have patio's etc. And if they don't.....Ugh, well.... the smoker's will smoke less.
People don't stop going out because they can't smoke. Drinking overrides smoking. even for most smokers.
