The fact that one browser opens pages faster than the other is just nonsense. Besides, the vast majority of computer users browse with IE, for this reason, web developer make sure the website is compatible with IE first. It is the content on the page of a website that effects the loading times. If a page is loaded with junk and tons of high resolution images, it will take longer to load in any browser. It is only through careful web page design that the loading times of web pages can be controlled, and to suggest otherwise is just guessing, or not true.

If you are looking for a fast web browser, try Firefox. It is much faster than Internet Explorer and much more secure. Also, you can download add-ons to tweak Firefox's performance.

Try Safari. http://www.apple.com/safari/ It is available for both Mac and PC. It is ugly looking though, but fast. It is based off of KDE's Konqueror for Linux.
