i dunno questions like these are always foolproof...well sometimes.

i love learning about history and entertainment is a part of it. so i love old movies as well : ) it just works out. even though ive only been alive for like 18 years.

I don't have a favorite but here are some to check out: Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) Psycho (1960) - I know this barely meets your deadline but still a great movie Rear Window (1954)

How about the Doris Day/Rock Hudson movies like Pillow Talk, Lover Come Back, and Send Me No Flowers? You did name a lot of great one though. I also love Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation, Harvey, and the old Hitchcock movies....
