What do you think is in nature the advantage of that?

this is a serious question.

africans have black skin because of stronge sun radiation.

desert people have noses fit to breath in a dusty and sandy environment.

so why do Chinese people have eyes like that? (chinese, japanese, mongolians and others)

Lenardz your answer is nice but not really an answer!

Exotic is a word invented at the time of the roman empire and was not referred to animals only, but to anything that was unusual. (could have been and object and animal or even a slave therefore a person) usually stuff from the east, but not necessary. could have been stuff from anywhere outside the empire or italy itself.

this question is not a FUN.
and yea its genetic
and genetics isn't beyond nature.
In east like in japan, Korea, and china the INTENSITY of sunlight is higher.
i am going to tell you all something which i found during my research work-
earth's distance from Sun is= 93 million miles
the intensity of sunlight we receive is about,
I=P/A=1600W/m^2
However, due to reflection off the atmosphere and due to day/night slanting angle of sunlight during day,the average intensity striking the earth is only about 250W/m^2.
But its not same every where.
Due to geographical position and condition of east, here intensity is about 270W/m^2(average 2007)
and it was more than 395.7W/m^2 before 6th century.

As we know that in high intensity light condition we use to constrict our ciliary and eye orbit muscle to adjust the vision.
Ancient chinese people got this character as adoptation and it became GENETIC.
not its a genetic character in chinese, korean, jananese etc.

One theory that I have is that in the past, the rulers would not let the chinese people sleep and they had to study all of the time; so they were really sleepy and their eyes just got stuck like that.

There doesn't need to be an advantage. It can simply be a genetic variation preserved by geographic isolation. Variations like this are common, even on a much smaller scale. DNA provides the mechanism for immense variety. It's not necessary for any particular variation to dominate unless it truly conveys an advantage.

The advantage is exactly just why you are asking this question.

It makes them look a more fascinating, curious and desirable. We just get hypnotized by them and end up wanting one! =P

As a Chinese myself, I've been told by my colleagues it makes us look more exotic...though I really hate it when people use that word to describe us. Gah! We're not pets people!! We're human beings too!

Personnaly I don't think they've eyes like that to adapt to the nature they live in. They were not like this since they were created I mean their grandfathers didn't have these eyes.
I heard something that can be rediculous but they say chinese were eating rice after peeling it and so the second generation came to life with these eyes. Or maybe they've chromosomic diseases just like mangolian

There is no advantage in the way people's eyes are shaped nor their mouth nose or ears for that matter.

Did you ever stop to think that the Chinese people are asking questions like: "Why do Americans have so many different eye and hair colours?" "Is it because they are Genetically screwed up?"
