I love mine, but they were starting to get on my last nerve.

Mine is 13, reads on the college level, and wants to be an engineer, which means he likes to fix thing, he did fix the DVD player, but he kept taking things apart, kept eyeing my anniversary clock, wanting to know how it worked, I told him that it was battery operated and we would just leave it at that. It was not going to be taken apart. Kept asking Why to everything, And I know that asking why is the way kids learn, but I was about to say, "Yours not to reason why, yours but to do or die", I used to tell my children that, when I got tired of answering why's. LOL

Dear Anne,

A kid must explore and the more it knows the more it wants to know. and even if it takes your last nerve now, you yourself as akid were not different I assume. Perhaps you didnot demount a clock but you explored on your way the world. Let him do and give it a smile.

The last time I breathed a sigh of relief was when the police finished searching my house without finding the bodies in the attic!

My grand daughters were here the weekend before Christmas making cookies and we were at their house Christmas Day. My 13 year old is into CSI and she watched her videos ALL DAY. She recorded alot of theepisodes and brought them with her, so thats what was on all day. She says she wants to do that when she grows up, she may do good because she is a "brain". I was glad when the videos left, though, but not the kids. I did enjoy the quietness after they left.

I love my grandchildren dearly, but I'm dreading the day when my daughter asks me to take care of them for a couple of days while she and her husband take a mini-vacation. The last time I was totally wiped out. These kids demand constant attention. Fortunately the weather was good so we did a lot of walking to and from the local parks, playgrounds, library, etc. I really wore them out. We had fun, I have to admit because I like to make those adventures a little education for them too. But man oh man, was I glad to get home!

My daughter and 1 year old grand daughter just left last night. I ADORE both of them but we live in a small house. When they come, there are toys everywhere, cracker crumbs, and a noise level I'm not used to. My (18 year old) stepson just moved out in May so we are pretty content with the peace and quiet.
I look forward to them being here be I do admit, I value the peace and quiet when they leave.

Dear, I envy you so. I would give anything for a grandchild & one that smart is a blessing. Next time when he is done fixing at your place, send him to mine. I could keep him busy for weeks. I have a 17 year old neice that is brilliant (future medical research). She is always reading and looking for answers to medical problems which I can keep her busy with all my conditions. Yes, they can be a pain, but just think about the alternatives (drugs etc). Good kids are a treasure. Now you can chill and get back to your business. Take care and God Bless.

We have 2 grandsons who are like a double whirlwind together! We live in a small house compared to the size of theirs plus we have an old Cocker Spaniel who is grumpy at the best of times lol without adding 2 rug rats to the mix!
We go to see them not them us. So our visits to see them are better coz they are in their own home, with their toys etc and no chance of them getting bored. plus no chance of them getting on our nerves - as much as we all love our grandkids they can be a bit much at times especially the under 10 age bracket. Ours are aged 8yrs and 7yrs (youngest had his 7th birthday yesterday). x

I have 2 grandchildren that live 800 mile away and only get to see them twice a year so when they are here every minute is precious

They can be quite tiresome, can't they?!? hehe! My 3 1/2 year old grandson has soooo much energy and tries to get into everything! He's at the defiant stage where you tell him "no" and he tries to do it anyway (just to see if he can get away with it). I love him dearly, but I do like to relax when he leaves!! hehe!
