Who on earth gives their 7 and 10 year old kids quad bikes, then lets them chase after them in their car in the dark, down a flipping road???
Sorry for the loss of such a young, innocent life, but that was actually criminal...we are meant to protect our kids from danger...I suppose the parents gave them shot guns in their stockings...

This fella definitely needs his head seeing to, as do all the parents who buy them for their kids and allow them to ride on the pavement !

I Whole Heartedly agree with every ones comments on the subject. Yes it is sad that the little girl was killed but the father should be strung up for letting it happen. They have large fields for their horses, why the road after dark, madness. What a way to start the new year.

Couldn't agree more -those were exactly my thoughts when I heard the story. It's a tradegy I know, but it's the parents who are responsible for it happening.
(By the way it's illegal for anyone without a driving licence (which no-one under under 16 can have) to ride a quad bike on a road)

Well I used to wonder that myself and then a family moved here from back east and they supply their 10 year old with all manor of "toys". He has a pocket rocket, dirt bike, quad and now a Skidoo 550 MXZ snowmobile ! That's a grown ups sled for christ sakes ! I mentioned this to them and they said "we have to get him these things because he deserves them", "after his brother DIED in a motorcycle accident we just can't tell him NO". WTF ???????????? He rides like his butt is on fire and I keep waiting for the time he has to get peeled off a tree. Some people should never procreate and usually they are the most proficient at it.

Its one thing to buy your kids an ATV and teach them how to properly use it, but to be so stupid and let them chase them down the road, that parent needs to be in a mental hospital.

I agree with you. There is a point where a silly mis-thought becomes pure negligence.

Stupidity has its own grim rewards unfortunately.

I'm sure the parents are happy you pointed that out to them or they would never have realised their mistake.
The "man" who never made a mistake has never made anything!... I guess that sums up your life!
