total distance is 45 m , if that is your question and the time is 3s.
d=at^2/2
a=g
g=10m/s^2
t=sqrt(2d/g)=sqrt(90/10)=sqrt9=3

Everytime I jump off the platform with the stone my watch breaks when I hit the ground. I can't figure out the distance with no time.

I think you've written the question incorrectly... it's dropped from a height of 45 m and you are asking the distance fallen?

It's 45 m...

I'm still working on it. Early indications suggest a figure between 34 and 48 metres.
