∫x^n dx
= (1/(n+1))x^(n+1) + c

∫x^(-5) dx
= x^(-4) / (-4) + c
= -1/(4x^4) + c

It would be simpler to recast the question as: how to integrate u^(1/2) with respect to u? One gets integral = (2/3)u^(3/2) + arb const, all in terms of u = x^2.
