a man came to my work yesterday with a prospective client, his friend.(i work in a supported housing unit)..while my collegue left the room the man got out his camera and said 'i'll just get a picture of you there while you are sat at the desk'..He took a photo of me on the camera he produced from his jacket pocket...We were in the staff office and had been chatting about the supported living unit for about half an hour. the man had brought his friend to look around the house i work as a support worker in, with a view to his friend moving in..
The man said the photo was for the prospective client (his friend)'s mum...he said.

Do you think that this is odd..him taking a photo of me??

Very inappropriate! I would have serious concerns about it and you should raise the matter with your supervisor asap. For future reference (hopefully you won't need it) if someone asks to take a photo of you and you aren't happy it is perfectly ok to refuse. If someone tries to take a photo of you without asking it is more than ok to stop them.

Why didn't you ask him why he wanted to take the picture? It was probably just for his mum to give her an impression of the people who work in the unit - but he should have asked your permission first and explained why he was doing it. I'm surprised you allowed it and then didn't ask him why.

Very, why would the mom need a picture of you? I could see maybe taking pictures of the house she will be living in, but not you. I would say something to your supervisor about this.

Yes, there is something not quite right about that. Talk to your supervisor and advise hom of the situation and see what he recommends you do. But just be careful.

It sounds as though he might have been an undercover investigative journalist. Whoever he was, he should not have taken your photo without your permission.

Sounds really odd, why would he want a photo of you unless you are not telling us everything.
