i am a 14 yr old girl, ive been sweating alot for a long time now and it is really getting to me. for some reason when im around my family i tend not to sweat at all but whenever im around my friends or at school or somewhere that is crowded i sweat like there is no tommorow and i mean alot, i wash twice a day and clean myself so im wondering why am i sweating so much. i told my mum about this but she says that im paranoid or ''its part of puberty'' which i dont think is true, ive been using different types of deodrants to see whether it will stop me from sweating ive used sanex, dove and sure which i dont use anymore because it hurts my armpits sounds weird but i dont no why that happens, i even used a well recommended deodrant called 'Mitchum' it worked for a while but i still sweat. what do i do?

it sounds like you sweat due to anxiety. obviously when you are around your family, you are comfortable and relaxed. i would speak to your doctor. i know they can get you to have botox injections in your armpits that stop the excess sweating.

hope this helps!

Sounds like a bad case of anxiety to me. It makes you sweat inappropriately and the more you worry about the sweating, the more you sweat. You are in a vicious circle that you have got to escape from. You are pubescent so your hormones are all over the place at the moment which could make you sweat a little more than normal for the time being. But it's temporary and they'll settle down soon. You seem to be taking all the right hygienic precautions so you won't smell (which would be very embarrassing). I think you should visit your doctor and tell him what you've told us. He may decide to send you for counselling to help give you a bit more confidence in crowded situations - or maybe he'll give you a mild tranquilizer to calm you down a bit. Whatever....the condition is curable so don't get het up about it.

Are you jsut sweating from the armpits, or other places like the palms of your hands? If it's just your pits...I'm going to go with your mom and say welcome to puberty. I hear the new clinical strength deodorants work pretty well. Also, use shower2shower or baby powder after showering....it helps a lot. Otherwise, I know there's a disease that causes overactive sweatglands (like sweaty palms). The "new" treatment for that is botox injections (believe it or not)....and you would need to talk to a doctor about it.

I have the same problem. I went and got a new deodorant get Clinical strength Degree. It is expensive but well worth it. It says to put it on at night before you go to bed. This really works well for me. I use it at night before going to bed and again after my shower in the morning. If you just put it on in the morning after your shower it doesn't work as well. Try this and if it doesn't work for you seek advise from a doctor.

Good Luck
