Children are discovering things, they don't understand most of what pisses you off and won't most likely until they are much, much older or have kids of their own. Young children may think it's a game, or find it funny when you get mad, therefore they just make you madder. For kids, it's all about attention, they'll try to get what they can out of you, even if it means making you mad so you'll look at them. Show them good attention, play, etc, and they should tone down how they irritate you for attention. Also, kids forget easy, they go off playing and don't remember how they made you mad in the first place or forget what you told them and just continue to do their thing. Best thing really is to adjust yourself a little, know that your kids will try and test your patience, let them know what makes you mad, discipline them and take away fun things or put them on time out, etc. You need to teach them that making you mad or doing bad things has consequences. Slowly but surely they'll learn.

Think about what you're asking. They know that it may be the only way you pay attention to them.
Stop what you're doing...enjoy your time with your kids. They grow up so damn fast that in a blink they're out of the house and in college.
In a few years, you'll wonder why noone is working your last good nerve!

because they can!! i've got the best little girl in the entire world... brilliant, gifted, gorgeous, you name it.... but she can pluck my last nerve to the point that i want to grab a rifle, and find the nearest clock tower!!!!!
just try to smile through it!! you'll miss it when it's gone. (and you can always do the mimic game... they hate it when it's done to them)
