It's not impossible, but I wouldn't try it because it would be very difficult if not impossible to get the gray even. It will probably leave blotches that you don't won't. Black jeans could go Grey much better, but again I'd be careful. If you want to try, pour some bleach in the bath tub and stir it around evenly and then let the jeans soak in the bleach water. Make sure the jeans are laid out straight . Make sure the whole pair of jeans are immersed. They may come out lighter, but not absolutely sure you can get them the color you want. If you have white jeans, buy clothing dye and try that. The more dye you put in, the darker the color. You may want to take a small piece of similar material to either bleach or dye before you try it on your jeans, Good Luck and Happy New Year!

I wouldn't recommend it. Don't ruin your jeans. Now you might be willing to experiment with one of the black jeans. I had a pair of brand new black sweat pants that my husband accidentally washed with a load of white towels (in bleach water). The pants came out grayish, but with some splotches on them too. Try to buy some grey pants.

The bleck jeans woukld go grey better but what you need to do is semi fill your tub first with bleach and water mixed in well then hold your jeans by the top and put it in and out until you get the grey color your happy with. DO NOT let them soak on their own cause you will get dark creases. Just put them in and out.

I think bleaching jeans turns them white. Then you could dye them gray, but bleaching them won't turn gray.

thanks for the link in my question.

when i mopped the floor (with bleach) and my blue denim jeans got wet because they are baggy, the bottom of the denim turned white-ish not gray. sorta like a faded white. the more bleach the more white
