It could be as a result of staying in the same position too long as one possibility. Another possibility is (based on some of the symptoms) the start of the flu but the only way to know for sure what is going on is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think could be going on.

I was lifting my friends kid a lot and I hurt my back like you did. I got out of bed and could not stand up straight. When you are bent over and lifting you can hurt your lower back. Your spine is out of alignment. Take ibprofen, an ice pack 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off for the first 72 hours to reduce swelling and then heat. You probably pinched a nearve and strained a muscle in the lower back which will make the the pain run down your legs. I recommend a gental massage after the ice packs. I would see a chiropractor to adjust your back. I did and told me the same thing I am telling you. Then after xrays he determined he could safely adjust me. As soon as he did I had no pain what so ever. They will recomend excersise and stretches after a few days.

It sounds like you pinched a nerve while you were sleeping.

It probably isn't related to the sore throat, as colds and viruses makes you ache everwhere at once.

I would suggest resting it as much as possible, UNLESS it's worse when you lie down and then try to get up..then you would need to move around with it, to work it out.

If it lasts more than a couple of days, or you notice swelling or changes in the color of your legs/feet, I would go to dr's straight away.

take something with an inflamatory. ie, tylenol, or aspirin, i wouldn't try muscle relaxers, it doesn't sound like it's in the muscle.

you might have pulled a tendon or ligament too.

for relief you can try cold packs. (hot makes inflamation worse)

hope you get feeling better soon.

you could have a cyst, or cyatica thats a nerve that gets inflamed for some reason or a pinched nerve. but you should go to the doctor and find out i get that too sometimes. plus i think you are catching a cold i dont think the two are related. please get checked out
