If her son is her husbands child or if he adopted the child she will get child support. Your question says step son though, so if he is just the husbands step son then no she will not get child support, she will need to go to the biological father for that. Hope that helps.

Depends on the state. Typically the biological father has to pay child support in this state - not the step father. The step father may have no responsibility. He didn't bring the child into the world. Your friend needs to as a divorce lawyer.

Support goes to the parent "to support the child", it is not an allowance for the child!

If her current husband is her child's step-father and not his biological or adoptive father, then no. She should, however, attempt to obtain child support from the child's legal father.

Sounds like the person she wants a divorce from is not the father. She needs to get support from the father, whether she's married to him or not.

the only way the man has to pay child support is if LEGALLY ADOPTED him other than that the man has no financial responsibilty for the step son

you wrote "stepson"
If it is her step son- no.
if he is the step dad to her child no.
She will only get child support if she has custody, and the child is legally, biologically his child.
