First of all good for you. Ron Paul has the same chance as any other candidate until the political parties choose their candidates.

In baseball you're allowed 3 strikes and 3 outs. If Republican Congressman Ron Paul of Texas failed in 1988, 2008 and is on the verge of dropping by the wayside in 2012. What does it make him? A perennial candidate. Senator John McCain of Arizona grow to be a perennial presidential candidate besides. He failed at shooting the 2000 Republican nomination against then Texas governor George W. Bush. He waited 8 years to run back and the majority weren't attracted to his campaign. After triumphing the nomination, Senator McCain lost interior the accepted election. Republican painted this candidate like former Kansas senator Bob Dole, yet another perennial candidate who controlled to win the nomination yet finally lose interior the accepted election. Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is a perennial candidate besides yet no person looks to word it with the aid of fact he's the probably one close adequate to conquer President Barack Obama. the only historic milestone of perennial applicants is the very fact they have failed distinctive cases at working for some thing. Congressman Ron Paul is an occasion of a failed candidate who tried to run for president three times just to be upstaged via a candidate maximum Republicans locate genuine looking adequate to take on the Democratic opponent.

No, he doesn't. Although I like the idea of getting rid of the IRS, replacing it with a national sales tax is not a good option. Sales taxes are much more regressive than income taxes. I would support a flat income tax that closes loopholes and shelters more than a sales tax. That is much more fair, The poor pay a higher percentage of their income in sales taxes than the rich. I know he has some complicated scheme to "offset
this, but if we are going to revise the tax system why trade in one complicated scheme for another? Doesn't make sense. I hope he stays in the race though. I don't know of his other ideas. Maybe it is good to discuss them.

To answer your question I must ask two others.
Are there enough voters in the U.S. that believe in black helicopters, conspiricy theories and the boogie man?
Will tin foil hats become fashionable after the next Presidential election?

he has 2 chances...slim and none! his only support is from people who live on the internet. aside from internet-only 'vote as many times as you want' polls, he's never been able to get into double-digit support in his own party-

Hi there Mate, you may see the tone of things here in the American political arena on this forum. It is a complicated situation.

Despite what you may think, America is not a Democracy. That is all a bunch of rubbish. The brainwashed and ignorant will probably say I am a Conspiracy Theorist; on cont rare, I am informed well enough in the fields of History/Politics to know this is the reality of modern-day America.

Those I know that are of decent intellect, and have a high comprehension of History usually agree with what I am saying, it is the masses that will usually disagree. They do not concern themselves much with informing themselves. That is just my experience.

Sadly, most Americans are those that know little to no History. They look to the Mainstream Media to form their opinions(I keep myself informed on what that branch of media say as well), or a preacher in many cases.

The American Mainstream Media has united against Ron Paul. At first they ignored him;and when they referred to him the reports were usually unflattering.

Keep in mind Ron Paul is seeking the blessing of the Republican Party.

The Republican Party of America has long been hijacked by "Neo-Cons." These people are the farthest example of what a Republican is supposed to be I know of, they are essentially Imperialists; and they are dominated by Religious fanatics.

Because the party has been hijacked by those with a un-Republican agenda, the party is afraid of a politician preaching old-school Republican ideals. He threatens to expose their very Un-American ideals. He threatens to overthrow them. Those that have power are only afraid of losing it.

Now, the core of Ron Paul's message is a return to our ideals. If you boil it all down, all he is saying is we need to start honoring our Constitution. Most of them probably do not know our Constitution is the oldest one still "used" in the world. Surprisingly, most Americans seem to be against this!

Many Americans don't understand our actions (mostly from a long time ago) provoked 9/11/animosity toward us around the world.

They would rather think the terrorists attacked us because they're envious of our freedom. I believed that before I started reading about things we've done (I was just a kid). That is what I base my saying ignorant people believe these fallacies, since I was once one of them, the informed do not.

Ron Paul has said on many occasions that is why they attacked us; and many Americans say that is some kind of conspiracy theory. If they only knew some of the things we've done (gave Iranian Secret Police Nazi (SS) torture techniques, overthrew a democratically elected Iranian leader to install a tyrant, etc) most would be on the same boat as me. Americans would rather not know indulge themselves in unpleasant realities, we refuse to accept responsibility for our actions, sad really.

They are against it (Ron Paul's platform) because many of them know very little of what our country used to be like, how much more freedom in many ways we had (though in some senses we are more free today in all fairness;but we have lost major freedoms while gaining a few minor ones).

There are things he says that scares modern-day Americans: he says we shouldn't have our troops everywhere in the world, he says we shouldn't be the World's Policeman. Most Americans (these days) seem to think that is absurd! And I'm the "brainwashed" one wearing a tin hat! The people that established our Country would be giving Ron Paul a pat on the back and shaking their heads at the lot of us.

Many, many Americans do not realize we must fight to keep freedom. Governments (all) will always erode peoples' freedoms over time. It has been demonstrated time after time after time in History. We just take them for granted these days.

There are still some of us here that believe in freedom; and are wise enough to know we need to keep fighting for it. In modern day America, we need to fight to get it back, not maintain it. Americans that lived before me failed to maintain it. We've lost much of our freedom and Ron Paul is saying we need to fight to get it back. That is the message most Americans seem to think this is somehow a threat!

He has a chance. The internet has allowed college students like me (everyday Americans) to spread the message since the Mainstream Media will not. Our media almost always ignores him or calls him a "longshot." You understand? We've got our Media telling us who we shouldn't vote for because THEY say he can't win. A Democracy with media silencing critics, how about that.

Many Americans tell me I should "shut up and leave,"etc. How about that for citizens that supposedly are defending American ideals/being true Americans, by telling me to leave. Anyone that disagrees should leave. Sounds totalitarian to me.

Those in power are trying to bottle Ron Paul's message up; but, people like me will not stop trying to get it out. Most Americans would probably be for Ron Paul if they actually listened to him speak (without some News fellow editing it or coming on right after to make it sound bad). If Americans were to have an objective source present Ron Paul, they would most likely agree with most of what he says.

I am sorry this is so long, I am trying to give you as comprehensive, yet compact view into the way I see America; and how it has to do with Ron Paul.

You must understand Americans have bad attitudes these days (I'd guess you see that); and we've got an excess of ignorant folk. I've tried to highlight that, and tie it in with what it has to do with Ron Paul.

If Americans would open their minds just a little, Ron Paul could win. If we refuse to respect our supposed ideals, he will certainly lose; and it will be a very sad day for America (and me).

I congratulate your Country for getting rid of our moronic President's pawn. You all should be able to govern as you please, not how my country says you should. Ron Paul is not only hope for America, he is hope for the world ((getting America's (military) tentacles out of every corner of the Earth)). Hope this gave you an idea of the hurdles/tone in regards to Ron Paul. Cheers!
