You're stuck with the Processor ... but upgrading the Ram is a great and relatively cheap idea ... depending on age and Operating System another 512 MB stick will work wonders at a reasonable cost ... or you could buy 2 512MB sticks and replace the 256 already there ... depends on your budget

If I am correct, you need to check what is the model of that HP laptop :) After checking the model of the HP laptop, you should be able to find out what is the latest configuration and upgrade you may have for your laptop.

By the way, if you upgrade your laptop by adding a new processor, you may need to upgrade the BIOS of that laptop. The update of BIOS should be available on the HP offical website.

It is really hard to buy a laptop processor from market. You may buy the laptop processor from HP or other computer manfacturer (Dell, Intel...)

Furthurmore, it is expensive to buy parts to upgrade your laptop:(

Most likely no. You would have to first find out what board is in it . Most laptops are only able to handle one type of processor. So you would be better off buying a new laptop. You could try to add memory and a larger hard drive but by them you could spend the money on a new laptop.

You might install 1 gig ram, I doubt if it will take more. The processor, can't be ungraded.
