It`s not being dominated, in some classes, it`s being influenced by western culture. Indian culture is still its own, with its own unique traditions and believes ( some good some bad ). Don`t worry, it will take more than 500 years before India has ( if ever ) lost its culture to globalization.

I think that the younger population of India are seeking a much more western culture. Modernisation is happening very quickly in India, with lots of western companies opening up there, but I do think that Indian culture will prevail. The same thing is happening to China, South American countries and many European countries. (like in England, English culture is fading away as British culture is thriving).

So there is no real need to worry, there will always be many people who will carry on the Indian culture to the next generation, and in the future, it may be that Indian culture has been changed by the West, but still has its own identity.

I am not going to subscribe to that view. India has been subjected to many a foreign rule and in spite of that we have not allowed them to dominate us culturally, if not politically.

The key words here are, customs, traditions, culture and for a bench mark-Japan.We often confuse and even use the key words alternatively but that should not be as these have their own definitions, scope, process, historical relevance and social space . India may become totally westernized but It needn't shed it's culture, unless it is so desired and has the implicit and explicit acceptance of Indians.Further,customs/traditions change faster but cultural changes involve transformation through many generations.JAPAN,a highly westernized country has taken to it's roots and culture more strongly as they marched ahead with modernization. There is a saying that you can take an Indian out of India but you can't take India out of him. So,there is always a hope,as far as our culture is concerned.
